Wife"s new (to us) Trail Blazer developed a noisy water pump, obviously wobbling. Took it back to dealer where we got it. They fixed it, said they put new water pump on. Looks like they had radiator shroud off, fan off, pulley, etc. But the large plate on the front of the engine looked untouched. Anyone familiar with that engine? Is that water pump small enough to hide behind the pulley? How much of a job is it to change it out? Book time is 3 hours, and they had it done in less than 2. If they had to remove plate on front of engine, I could easily understand the 3 hour book time, because all the stuff involved with that... But don"t think that plate came off. Any ideas?
To their credit, they didn"t have a bill for me when they turned it back to me. I"ve been happy with the way this dealer stands behind their cars.
