Just feel the windrow and bale it when it is dry, which will be about the second day after combining if it is "clean" and the weather is good. Raking it fluffs it up and gets air through it to dry better.
Old wives tale on straw being better if rained on.
Why anyone would ever let it get rained on on purpose is beyond me--especially if big windrows--hard to dry back out, possible damp/moldy bales, raking and re-raking, etc. Bale it ASAP and go on vacation once it is stored away!!
