Nothing is totally maintenance free. You get what you buy. Around here the complainers, about vinyl, bought the cheap stuff to begin with. It is my opinion, each product has it"s own good points as well as bad points. Around here I would prefer a good quality heavy vinyl siding. The installer makes the siding. If any siding isn"t put on right it will have problems. Go look at all types of siding during both extremes of weather if at all possible. What might look good in Jan. might not look good in July & Aug.
