Two weeks ago Thursday I stepped on a nail. Since I couldn't remember the last time I had a tetanus shot, and not having any health care, I went to the 24 hour ambulatory care center at 9:00am.
Even though I "bargained" down the price, it still cost $100 for the admission, $65 for the doctor to look at it, $49 for filled out paperwork, $85 for the treatment room! Then they wanted to have an X-ray of the foot. (To check for fragments and bone injury, another $165!)All of this to receive a $29.00 shot. Lordy!!
Seems to me that costs could be lower if GOOD doctors and hospitals didn't have to pay such high premiums on malpractice insurance, thanks to ambulance chasing lawyers.
