On the 27th of July, I sent a message to this group describing a drivability problem with my pickup.
It was constantly surging and running rough at between 50 and 70 MPH and the tachometer would move around, maybe a couple of hundred RPM all while the cruise control was off or on, didn"t matter.
I seriously thank all of those who replied, the truck now seems to be fixed, after putting up with this for probably at least three years, maybe four.
More than one person suggested the throttle position sensor, but I want to especially thank BrokenWrench for emailing me several times describing how to deal with this thing.
The sensor was replaced Friday, and yesterday I put 240 miles on the truck, it did not do this once, not once.
Previously, we timed it, we could not go thirty seconds at a time without the rough running.
I had decided that the torque converter had stopped working several years ago, giving it more gas would result in immediate tachometer movement.
Now, I can feel when the converter locks up, and it is apparent on the tachometer.
Giving it more gas now results in the tach reading increasing at the same rate as the speedometer.
Again, thanks to everyone, especially BrokenWrench, if you guys knew how frustrating this was, after going even to the Chrysler dealer and an independent several times with no results, you would know how happy I now am with the truck.

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
