We've had an ongoing problem with the A/C drain on our 95 Dodge plugging up. Its located as described below. There are several ways to try and clear it.
Our mechanic used a piece of 1/4 in copper tubing "engineered" to fit on an air compressor hose, worked that up in the drain as far as he could, then blew air up in the drain. That worked a couple of times, but then failed to clear the line. He also used a piece of wire to try to work up into the drain with limited success.
The last time it plugged, I tried a coat hanger and two other types of wire with no success.
I then taped a piece of 2 in. flexible hose to the end of the shop vac hose, turned the vac on and got the end of the flexible hose over the drain and got some good vacuum on it. That finally cleared the drain.
Driving with no A/C isn't fun and if the drain is plugged it will literally flood the interior. BTDT too many times.
