I missed out on the prior narrow front arguments. There is no doubt that a wide front is more stable than a narrow front. Far better for loader work, able to mount bigger tires, carry more front weight, etc. I agree that once front mount pickers and tools became obsolete then so was the narrow front. Oliver offered a narrow front option into the 70's on their 55 series tractors but I have never seen one.
