Here is a method we have had some success with. Put a couple hands full of stone out of your driveway in the tank with a little fuel. Then shake it around for a while. The sharp edges of the stone will scour the inside of the tank. Dump everything back out the fill hole. May have to rinse a couple times. If tank has baffles in it can be more challenging. I guess you could call this the poor man's way.
