Did you hit it in such a way as to force the front wheels all the way to one steering stop? Or fairly straight on, so they didn't spin much, just stopped short?
If the latter, I'd suspect you jarred something loose that was about to let go. There are 2 lines- supply and return- running from the MCV (I think front, not sure) to the oil cooler just inside the LH frame rail. If you remove the front grill, there are 2 steel lines that I believe connect to the steering cylinder. They are in a low spot, where dirt and water collect, and they like to rust out. the oil cooler lines are low pressure. maybe a rubber hose just worked itself off the steel line it used to be clamped to?
If the former, probably a seal, o ring, etc in the power steering cylinder. can't help on that one.
