Any time you work with large ammounts energy, (in any form) and/or large, heavy objects (large potential energy ) there is a potential for serious injury. This is true for modern tractors, old tractors, or any machine down to the size of a chainsaw. Older tractors and impliments did not have the safety features we expect on modern equipment. Heck look at the 'deadman switches' on lawnmowers today. Can you imagine OSHA allowing any of this old farm equipment on an industrial site today? Lots of our forfathers lost hands, legs, fingers and even got killed operating farm equipment.
