It sounds like you are trying to decide between a post frame (pole barn) type structure and a conventionally framed (2x4 wall) building. Without a large crew to erect walls, the pole barn is a better way to go, since there are only a few things (e.g hoisting rafters) that might require more than a couple workers to do. A good book on the subject is "How to Build Small Barns and Outbuildings" by Monte Burch. In our area, most major lumberyards will sell you a complete package (materials & plans) for about any style pole barn you might want to build. You'll need plans if you have to pull a permit. One other thing: If you go with steel siding, use screws instead of nails. The structure will be stronger and screws are easier to use. When you try to drive a nail into steel siding, it has a nasty habit of bouncing back in such a way that the next hammer blow lands on your thumb.
