His death brings back a memory of a story I heard from my service manager in the late 70"s. Two friends of mine were living in a small camper trailer to save hotel money while working a construction job a good ways from home. While eating supper one cool evening,they had the TV sitting outside the trailer to make room for their plates on the table. The CBS News was on and one of them commented, saying "I hope Walter"s not cold out there" and about that time Walter sneezed on TV!! He"ll be sorely missed. I always liked him and Chet Huntley/David Brinkley.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
