A front mount block (FMB) has no provision for the generator to B mounted on the left side
A side mount block (SMB) has no provision for the gen to B mounted on the right side,,, the distributor in in the way
the cam drives the dist on both but in different ways so you would need the correct cam and covers for the type of dist you use,,, the issue is lies in were the generator mounts
Their are other small differences that can B over come,,, all issues are external so its a matter of mounting issues that are no problem.
If i had the choice I would go side mount and dump the P.O.S. front mount dist. no matter what issues I had to overcome.
