all point system run on 6v JD uses a resant wire
others have a restent block.(so on a 6v to 12v
converson one to install a restant block or a 12v coil (rester is biult in))If the point are run on
12v thay only last 1/2 as long or less.
JD and GM and others have a wire runing off starter silonod to the coil so on start up it get 12v for hoter startup becus the starter being on will drop the systom v thus 6v may drop to 4v =
pore start up.
we had a D17 that would run the batter down befor
it would start but let up on the key and 9 out of 10 times it would start.we sold the tractor befor i lernd this.
