Case in point Walmart pay its associates in script in Mexico. The article I read indicated the average associate pays nearly twice his earnings on a given product at Walmart than if he had the ability to shop anywhere. The article did not say if any exchange existed for script to regular currency. People do not seem to realize that a lot of the culture we take for granted would not exist if most the country worked for subsistence wages over the last century. Sports would be amateur league only and probably never been broadcast to the public (because there would have been no financial incentive to do so). Think about that when you are watching your favorite baseball team this weekend. As far making decent money, maybe the manager, assistant, and pharmacist make much over minimum. As far as huge cost savings go, I am not seeing it with Walmart. I do just as good at the regional grocery chain on a weekly basis. I don't have to wait long for the auto parts store to offer a special that will beat Walmart on most products. I feel like I do more good for the community by spending at other establishments. I went a little further with this and should have gone as a general response. Sorry, Spook.
