WD45 starter short

starter wasn't working. Replaced brushes and bushings. Now if I run current directly to the brass post on starter casing it spins great. However, when I run it through the starter switch, it barely turns...unless I loosely mount the switch. Then it works fine. I've cleaned both surfaces. That brass post appears grooved and worn. Can it be replaced? If so, how? Could it simply be the switch? Thanks
