I wasn't happy with my Wood's RM-59 with the wheels on the back and skids on the front for the way the skids would cut into the ground especially when wet. You could set it so the skids barely touched the ground, but if the gound was not even it would end up gouging. So even with the 3 point hitch set up, I put a front set of dolly wheels (swiped off another RM-59 I bought for parts). Now with the 3 point I have it set so the mower runs on the wheels and is guided and lifted by the 3 point. I don't see any reason why this couldn't be used as a trailing mower with the addition of a tongue and a longer power shaft.
