My story; in early 1983, I was fired from my brokerage job because of reporting my office manager�s activity, which amounted to theft of company funds. The parent company claimed to be clearing more trades, and was I think, on the NYSE than any other firm. After I sued them, in a six day trial in U.S. District Court, they said they fired me because I pursued the matter up to our president, after lower level people told me that there was no problem and to forget it. The jury awarded me just over $100K but with the litigation costs and the time I invested pursuing it, it was not monetarily profitable to go after them. However, there was a lot of satisfaction in showing that I was right all along; too bad you can not sell satisfaction. Here is a link that brings a lot of memories back:
