Buying back your own stuff is kind of accepted practice at a consignment sale around here. As long as that's how the game is played, bid what it's worth to you & stop there.

Estate sales are where you can get a deal. Sometimes. But I ran into so odd stuff there too - At one the bigger equipment wasn't selling so good, so after selling the bean head, they said no sale on the combine, & told the winning bidder 'talk to the owner about the bean head.' Um, I woulda written the check & hauled it off, once it's sold, it's sold.

Nothing else sold after that, everyone turned into spectators - several tractors, a truck, etc.
