dave, like bill said, call animal control and have them take the cat in and have it tested. if it is rabies, it can infect other animals in your area. definately not a good thing. use a shovel, put the critter in a big garbage bag and tie it shut. wear gloves and a dustmask, and scrub up good afterwards. or call animal control first and get their recommendations.
