You've got one of those ?? Thats been an ongoing problem with the 5500 and 5550 backhoes..After you fix it, You will notice the engine doesn't line up as well as it could..Like there's an interference angle going on there..Probably front pump housing bushing and seal problem..Yes , you do have to split the tractor to repair it..
