We had a 105 gas when I was young, seems like it had a 22' head for wheat. I remember it was quite a machine back around 1970. Hard on gas though. Back then my dad and uncle cut about 2500 acres of wheat with the 95 and 16' header, and the 105 and 22' header. Seems like we cut for 2 weeks, and then usually ended up a few days more helping neighbors finish up. My dad and uncle believed in starting as soon as the dew was off, usually late morning, and cutting as late as they could before the wheat got tough. Sometimes here in KS, that might be 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. As a 12-13 year old kid I used to get sick of harvest long before it was over. Now I can't wait to get at it.
