I have an ignorance question on diesel. I was raised with gas so don't know much about diesels. I have a 684 IH. Runs great for about 30 minutes at PTO speed. After that it will die. After a lot of inspection it seems there is air in the fuel line. The lines at the pump have no fuel. The fuel filters are about half empty. If I loose the lines at the pump and turn the motor over until fuel is present it will run for another 30 minutes or so. I noticed that one of the bleed screws on top of the no. 1 fuel filter will not completely tighten down. Seems to be stripped. Can this allow enough air to get into the lines to cause this problem? The screw is snug but not tight. No fuel leaking or bubbles but definatley stripped. Any other ideas
