Thermocouple has to be hot to keep the pilot light lit.
I'll try a new thermocouple incase the old one is too weak to open the main valve.
OK, I cannot emphasize enough to make sure the pilot is clean. Blow it out "backwards" with air, and take a GOOD look. It should be quiet, not blowing, and nice and blue.
Otherwise, the (actually a thermoPILE) is probably the problem
These systems can work for years troublefree, and then be a beauotch
I don't remember, anymore, what the minimum voltage is "accepted" but I found over the years that doesn't mean much. The 750mv figure is open circuit, and is really just a descriptor of the type of system. Good luck
