I'd go along with the others. Plumb into an oil gallery and pump by some means a pint or two of oil through the engine.

As far as what kind of oil, what would be wrong with plain old SAE 30? It's been my practice to change the oil and filter after about the first engine hour anyway so that first batch of oil is "wear in" stuff or more properly "get acquainted" oil.

I would think the first 100 or so hours would want to be on whatever recommended mineral oil, and after that you could go to synthetic if you wanted to.
