Funny you mention that, though I'm not formally trained, I was my friends sparring partner often enough to know without any doubt as to protecting the family jewels. More or less an informal practice session mostly, some mock situations, exercises, simple techniques, and mostly time to learn something while working out with a good friend I always enjoyed it, highly valued the things I learned like always protect yourself pain or not LOL !! Hurts like heck when you don't ! Don't have to be down there either, just miss a simple block and that shot to the ribcage will wake you up immediately, and if you let up from that, the next one will hurt even more, amazing how much there is to learn and practice and the dedication it takes to excel at it.
