I do know that there is some connection.My son's farm is abot ten miles from a Mesonet site We watchec it very close and our first cutting time out with no irrigation. Now we watched close for the second cutting and when it reached 700 hour units it is being cut a second time at 21 days. Buds show but no flowers. It was irrigated and had rain. After cutting foliar fertilizer will be apply through irrigation. First cutting averaged three & half ton per acre. This cutting looks likr it will be close to that.
