Many thanks for your help. Will get manual although I have an old one that may be original (it appears to be part of a larger manual starting on page 311 and has a "code" at the bottem of 3729-47). My friendly neighborhood mechanic stopped by and he thinks the unit below the generator is where the oil is leaking out, so that it's either the governor or the oil pump or the gasket. Unfortunately no compression test was done. I'll try someone else tomorrow. Thanks again for your help. Best, CR
