McCormick DEERING

I have a McCormick Deering gas engine with a wico mag. ( no spark ) .. the screw that acts as the one end of the points broke off and i
need to know what the point setting is.
there is a jam nut for adjustment as to when the points pull apart. should they be in a closed posision when the mag is closed?. this is a 1934 type L.also I have a 1929 McCormick Deering 1020. any clue as where to get sheet metal parts??? she runs great and is a winter project. feel free to e-mail me . thanx in advance
