i had an oil filter that was stuck on my 1984 diesel chevette and nothing short of a 24 inch pipe wrench would remove it. i would tighten the new oil filter by hand 3/4 turn past contact with the gasket( the gasket was oiled, of course) and when i went to replace the filter after 3,000 miles i had to dig out the pipe wrench again. go figger that one. i know that is not about your problem, but it seems that some thing just will not work right no matter what u do. just my 2 cents worth. LOL.
