deer is classified as wild game and therefore requires a permit and hunting license. unless you want a criminal record, part with your guns and a lot of money, i"d hang some bars of soap around your property instead. besides that you are more apt to just wound it and it will run off, lay down and eventually die/ or not. even shot with a slug from a shotgun, if not a well placed shot, they can still run a long,long ways.
