I was taught something interesting when I was growing up.
Dad used to say that he could change the weather. And so, likewise, I grew up to believe that if you asked it for what you wanted, you would get it--about 4 times out of 5.
Well not too long ago I got to staring at my Bible and thinking, Jesus rebuked a storm. He calmed the wind. He cursed a fig tree and it died and withered up overnight. And then He said that "anyone who has faith in me will do even greater things than these". And he sent his disciples out to heal the sick, preach the Gospel, and cast out demons and unclean spirits. So then, why can't we speak and declare that we shall not have rain until we are done with the planting?
I do it. And I find that it works. It's just important to give the proper credit where it belongs--God gets the glory.
