I am with you on this one. I am in south east pa and they are in demand here too. Seams the bigger stuff is what a lot of people cant/wont tackle themselves. I would try to stay up on the technology or maybe branch out. Maybe push the hydraulics end of the work such as making custom hoses etc. Or maybe offer to paint up the heavy equipment. I know of a guy with 1 or 2 helpers that does nothing but paint up machinery for 1 used equipment dealer...
