Rusty yes the sucker will produce fruit,,, I do sucker mine, cuzz if I don't the plant sorta bushes out and does not grow tall,,, course I cage mine in concrete wire,,, I do believe that a plant that is suckered will produce longer than one that's not,,, tho I believe a plant that for the short term thats in not suckered will play out faster than one that is not,,, My suckered plants will produce from the first of July till frost, (some were toward the end of October),,, I do use the suckers to start my late maters (first of July) I need to get my suckers to root rite NOW but to busy
I have a few suckers that I rooted a few weeks ago that have maters on'em (errr what the ell is going on) I plant maters every way I know,,, every way I have heard of,,, in bails,,, upside down in buckets,,, in pots,,, in a green house,,, most all form suckers,,, they all do well
