Tell me about it.
Have a 4 year old battery in my Ford 3600 and started all winter, but let it set for a few months this spring. Now it is the oddest thing. Battery shows 12 Volts, but has no cranking capacity.
Made all connections clean/bright and tight. followed voltage around through wiring. Thought it was starter at that point so pulled it and took it into the shop only to have it test out as OK. Put it back on, threw jumper cables on and still no go.
Went back with a battery box thinking I was going to check all circuits again and sure enough turned over just enough to start. Started looking at my Jumper cables and now see that they appear to have given up the ghost right were the cables connect to the clamps from bending. Too bad, they are about the heaviest cables I have ever seen (probably 00).
Anyway, I am running in to pick up a battery sometime this week.
