I finally remembered to give 810 AM a try. At night it comes in clear enough to understand while the vehicle is running. With the engine off and just the radio on, 810 comes in full clarity unless there is a lightening storm somewhere. East coast of Lake Huron, about 4 hrs north of Detroit. I tried the Sony 2010 and it's great outside. However there is some source of AM static in and around the house I've yet to hunt down. It maybe those energy efficient fluorescent yard lamps.
