Easier with sand soil but do NOT cound on just poping them out. That may change your ideas about what to buy for a tractor. An old D6 or bigger RENTED for a while may be better. I've dug basements for over 30 houses and hardwood stumps 20" and bigger are a pain for average backhoes when ya have lots of them.(unless in sandy soil) Careful on counting on a backhoe. Machine size matters, not always newness, when dealing with BIG stumps.. harvey
