If the over-50 crowd wants to stay off the payrolls of America and still stimulate the economy, they COULD take up farming. There's LOTS of money in farming, and I know a lot of farmers who PUT about all the money they had into farming.
If these "retired" guys really want to work, farming, when done properly, will give them all the opportunity they can handle. Animals don't just "try" fences from 9 to 5; in fact, it's difficult to get them to create mischief ONLY during business hours, unless you happen to work another job during business hours.
But if we "retired" all the folks 50 and over and then made farmers out of them, I believe we'd see a lot of attitudes change.
