It would be terrible to legalize it, just look at all the hardworking 'independent contractors' who grow a few plants back in the woods who would be out of work. Think of the dollars it would take from the Mexican maffia who are terrorizing a whole swath of the world. All that extra money would end up as taxes and lining the pockets of a multinational corporation.
With the above spoken firmly tongue in cheak, on a more serious note it really doesnt matter to me one way or another. Im not smoking it, and we already have laws against driving impaired. I would venture it would be easier to control if it was legalized and taxed. What we are doing now is like prohibition only the Al Capone of today is the Mexican Maffia. Quickest way to get them off our streets is to legalize and regulate the stuff.
