I agree, alcohol is a POWERFUL, DESTRUCTIVE and ADDICTIVE substance. How many times have we heard of wife and child beatings, drunk drivers, college parties, pregnancies and other social issues caused by drinking? The bar scene is utterly pathetic! Granted, I DO drink a tasty beer or mixed drink once a month, but nothing near the reach of abuse.
I AGREE - alcohol, when compared to marijuana, reflects the ability of the user to RATION it - or ABUSE it.
Some people will think, "what is this country coming to?" if marijuana is legalized. However, these people do not realize the far, far greater impact that alcohol has on society.
Not that marijuana SHOULD be legalized, but that college drinking is a growing issue. In fact, a growing majority of students go to college just to drink and participate in other retarded things.
Bottom line is, alcohol IS an accepted cultural norm in American society. It's okay to be drunk off your AZZ and not okay to come to work smelling like weed.
