One of the networks did a news item about a month ago as to why the oil companies weren't drilling and searching for new sources of oil. When any of the Big Oil companies would talk, they basically said that as long as gasonline prices were under $3 a gallon, it wasn't "in the interest of our stockholders" to invest in new drilling.
So instead of drilling in the ground, the oil companies are drilling the consumers...many of whom have already lost their jobs.
