Save yourself some headaches and put the wire in PVC as the rodents will eat right thru it in a short time. Ask me how I know! The rodents love the coating on the wire as most dogs do. The telephone company has a cable that has a stainless steel sheath around it, no PVC required. I asked for some when I installed my shop and he "gave" me a 1000ft roll. Said if I need more to come back! Might be worth a visit and tell them your installing a new telephone line to your shop. T_Bone
