On many Case tractors the serial number stamped on the bell housing flange matches the number on the tag. This is mainly true with many of the Racine, WI built models. The 530 however was a Rock Island, IL build model. The most common Rock Island tractor was the VAC and others of the VA series and I know that that method didnt work on those. Maybe someone on the Case forum could give a more conclusive answer.
