Trees actually lean to where it can get the most sun. If you have two tall buildings side by side with a gap running north to south with a tree inbetween then the tree will lean to the south. A tree out in the open won't lean because it receives the sunlight evenly. In a forest trees go up to get the most sunlight which would explain why forest trees are so much taller than trees in the open and why trees in the open grow so much wider. I'm not sure what to tell you though because if it wants to grow to the south it will grow to the south unless you get whatever is in the way of the sun coming from the west and east out of the way.
