Look on the jug. I think you will find it meets "CJ-4" requirements. This means it's low ash oil and is safe for use in diesels with a particulate filter in the exhaust. Ash doesn't do anything for lubrication, but it collects in the particulate filter in the exhaust. Ash doesn't burn off during a regeneration and causes the particulate filter to plug faster than it would otherwise.
