If to wish for, ask, pray, desire, is as you say still a demand (a weak one) and one can not demand things from God then one can not wish or pray to God in the first place. Then why does every pastor and church believe in prayer?
I will maintain and believe that: to wish for, ask, pray, desire is not a demand, even a weak one. It is just an expression of hopefullness or desire.
