Un do the drain plug and see how much water comes out[in a container]. remember the oil pick is probably an inch from the bottom of sump and oil floats on water so if it ran for a short time you may be able to get away with it. The spray could be from water lying in the mainfold. You may not have any worries. Surprised you started it a second time.
