Karl, I know you're gonna get a lot of folks saying you're nuts for even considering it, but I would encourage you to give it a try. I've heard of a fellow who painted a fabric covered airplane with a Wagner airless sprayer, and he got a pretty good paint job out of it. The biggest problem he had was that the spray would tend to strike the "basket" thing that acts as a guard around the nozzle. When it built up there, it would drip on his nicely painted airplane, and he would have to stop and clean up the mess. He didn't have any problem on parts he could stand pretty much vertical, as the drips would just fall on the floor. His final solution for the drip problem where he had horizontal surfaces? Just wipe the basket thing on his jeans to get rid of the drips before they happened. Needless to say, he wore old jeans for that. BTW, if it doesn't work, you will find out before you go thru much paint, and all you will be out is the cost of paint and the work involved in getting the surfaces back in shape to be painted.

Elliott said while this
