I'd let the bias down to 4-6 psi or whatever will keep them on the wheel, then air the radials up to 10-12 or so. I've been doing the same thing for 5 years or so. I keep saying that the old radials will get replaced with new Michelins and then the Firestones will go on the duals but the damn firestones won't wear out...
I've broken 2 wheel centers since I started that, but the centers wern't the strongest to begin with and I was carrying a lot of weight besides. Do keep the clamps evenly tightened and check them often...
