Dave 2 depending on what type of driving you are use to you might want to take a cab or train out of JFK to newark airport and then get your rental car. Getting on rt 78 west from there is not bad.It may make your trip much more enjoyable.If you drive from JFK out your self after your 5th close call with whack jobs and nan speaking english Americans running 18 wheelers in to port Newark . You may take up drinking and really foul language.
